American Renewable Energy manages everything you need to power your home with clean and affordable solar energy. With our simple steps, we will guide you through the process from solar system design and financing through to installation and ongoing system monitoring.
Here are the steps to get started.
Step 1: Free Solar Consultation
You system will be custom designed to your needs (the energy consumption requirements of every home and family are unique). Your solar design will depend on the specifics of your historical energy usage, as well as your home’s roof design, electric equipment, solar orientation, and how much sunlight your home receives.
The preliminary steps to your solar design include discussing your needs and goals for electric consumption and savings. We will view your home via satellite imagery to determine the orientation and amount of solar exposure to determine if your home is a good candidate for a solar PV system. We will then collect and review your previous 12 months electric usage to determine the patterns that allow us to correctly project your needs and appropriately size your system.
Step 2: Proposal
ARE will prepare a detailed written proposal based on your home’s capacity for solar installation and electrical needs. The proposal will include a financial analysis based on recommended system size for your home and pricing for services included. We will also identify the financial incentives available, including rebates and tax credits where applicable. Our proposal will also make you aware of loans and alternative financing options available that can allow you to make the most of your financial investment, depending on your needs.
Step 3: System Design
Your solar system will be made up of an array of solar modules that will harness solar energy and convert it into direct current (DC) electricity. This electricity will then travel to your inverter where it will further be converted to alternating current (AC) electricity, the kind of electric power that your electric devices use. In addition to proving clean solar energy, your solar system will also be grid-tied to your existing utility system.
This allows you to purchase additional power from the utility when you consume more power than your system generates. At times when you generate more electricity than you consume, you can credit your utility bill by selling this power back to the utility through the NetMetering program.
To ensure that you are able to fully optimize your system, we custom design your solar power system so that it is specific to your home’s architecture, location, and your family’s electrical needs. ARE works with certified professional engineers, electrical engineers, and registered architects to custom design a high quality, aesthetically pleasing solar electric system fit to your household’s needs.
Step 4: Installation
The installation process includes many steps which we want to make as easy and seamless as possible. We take care of all the details along the way including the building permits, inspections, and interconnection to the utility grid. As there may be site visits from engineers, architects, and other professionals as needed along the way, we work closely with each customer to minimize any disruption to your home and family. ARE’s NABCEP certified installation teams, who have comprehensive experience in home solar system installation, make sure that by the time it is fully installed and operating, your system will meet or exceed industry standards.
Step 5: Ongoing System Monitoring
ARE continuously monitors and maintains your system performance to ensure it is running smoothly.
